Ever since I started my software career, I've always been intrigued by the product designers I worked with. How they went about understanding our users and producing the beautiful UI we went on to build. It seemed so difficult to make the move. Recruiters always see the software degree and put my CV straight into that bucket. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've learnt about developing and all the people along the way. However, I've realised that now is a better time than ever to take a step towards my dream. So over the past 5 months, with the support of my team at Jasper, I've studied part-time with the UX Design Institute whilst working full time as a Frontend Engineer.And today I have been awarded my Professional Diploma in UX Design! 🎉Turns out that I smashed my exam and I'm unashamedly proud of myself for taking a big step towards a profession where I can let my creativity shine a little brighter. (My certificate is in the mail so I thought I'd improvise with a wee photoshop)

I've had a blast working at Jasper for the past year and a half, I've met and worked with some amazing people. I am also thankful that my desire to shift my career from dev to design was supported by my manager Ollie Shaw and the team. My career shift has ultimately brought me to a new opportunity. I'm excited to share that this week I'm starting a new position as Junior Product Designer at Atlassian! 🎉
