Early Life
Dina was born in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on 22nd September 1989 while spent earlier days there for some time and later shifted to Dubai in UAE. She is very conservative about her personal life. Though it is still unknown about her family members we are able to identify Ali Shihabi as her father and Omar Ali Shihabi as her brother. She studied at Al Mawakeb School, Emirates International School, and then at Dubai American Academy. In the meantime when Shihabi was in school, she was an active participant in the school plays and dramas that used to happen.
At the age of 11 when she was in school, she began learning dancing and was taught by Sharmilla Kamte known as the “Dancing Queen” who was a renounced dance teacher at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre Chaloub Studio in UAE. It was her teacher, Nancy Mock who insisted and pushed Dina to go ahead in the field acting. It was 2007 when Shihabi turned 18, she moved to New York City taking her teacher’s suggestion seriously.
She started her acting career she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts for two years but didn’t complete the degree of four years. However later in 2011, Dina got herself in at Juilliard & The Graduate Acting Program at NYU Tisch School of Arts. She graduated in 2014 with her MFA and NYU elevated the requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree for Dina Shihabi.
Dina Shihabi Career
Shihabi started her career as she came to New York. Along with her studies, she started her career. Her first project was in the movie David with the role of Aishah. In 2013 she was cast in Ben and many others. It was 2014 that gave her the breakthrough when she was cast in Amira & Sam as Amira Jafari (lead role). That role in the movie changed her life. It was her consistency and hard work that paid off in the movie too and the audience apparated her acting skills.
Over the period of time, Dina improved her acting and her touch-ups in the scenes were like a cherry on the cake. Her talent was later recognized and she was cast in Jack Ryan, a famous Netflix series’s main role as Hanin Suleiman. In 2019 she was again cast in Ramy in the role of Nour. Currently, after lots of speculations, it is Dina cast for the role of Dig 301 in the second season on Altered Carbon.
