He belonged to the John Sevier Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Johnson City, and to the Disabled Veterans of America Chapter 38, Kingsport. He was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. Livingston, 35, Telford was found Sunday just west of the east switch on Southern Railways tracks through Telford community. Engine 2747 of Southern Railway came upon the body at 5:45 p.m. Apparently Livingston had been struck by a train' using the track sometime during the day or the night before. Parts of the body were strewn along the track, indicating that the corpse was dragged over 200 yards down the track. After discovering the body, the engine backed the track.

then the Washington County Sheriff's office was notified of the incident. Approximately 100 yards from the spot where the body was discovered, a large grocery bag containing several cans of un- Mrs. O'Dell, teacher, succumbs Mrs. Nora Jean Hodge O'Dell, 76, 1300 E. 11th died at p.m.

Sunday at Colonial Hill Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. O'Dell had started teaching in Washington County at the age 16: She taught for many years in a shin g- ton County schools including Embree ville, Boones Creek, Barnes, Austin Springs, and Mrs. Nora O'Dell Piney Grove. In the early 1940s, she moved to Knoxville and started teaching at Oak Ridge.

She continued teaching in the Oak Ridge school system until her retirement in 1958. Mrs. O'Dell moved back to Johnson City in 1960 and lived with a sister-in-law, Mrs. Maxine Hodge, at 1300 11th Ave. After returning, she was very active in Gray Lady work at Mountain Home's Veterans Administration Center where she accumulated several thousands hours of volunteer work: She also was active in the Perennial Garden Club, which the Newcomers Club; she had served as president: Austin Springs Home Demonstration Club.

Mrs. O'Dell belonged to First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Class. 3 was a native: of Washington County, having been born in the Austin Springs area. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Trent her nasband, James O'Dell, died in 1957. Survivors include a brother, Lawrence C.

Hodge, Baltimore, three nephews, Bill Hodge, Piney Flats, Richard Hodge, Elizabethton, and Tom Hodge, Johnson city; three nieces, Mrs. Jane Curd, Piney Mrs. Pegggy Denton, Baltimore; and Mrs. Carolyn Haire, San Diego, two sisters in Mrs. Maxine Hodge Mrs.

Ernestine Hodge, Piney Flats; several grandnephews and grandnieces. Morris-Baker in charge. opened beer lay scattered between railroad ties. People living near the scene or the incident told investigating officers that Livingston often walked down the track on his way home. The exact time of the accident is not known.

Sheriff's Deputies Floyd Gray, George Bowman, Burhi Collins, and Robert Thompson were assisted in the investigation by Southern Railway Detectives W. L. Goard, D. E. Lucas, and J.
