Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/04/18 for Seat 1B

Sitting in 1B has less legroom due to the bulkhead. There is a gap under the bulkhead for a few extra inches if you dont mind dodging the flight attendant's feet poking under from the opposite direction. My complaint is the overall comfort of the seat. It is the most uncomfortable first class seat that I have sat in. The seat back is very upright. There is not much padding. It seems to feel like an oversized economy seat from a small regional jet.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/03/14 for Seat 21F

I want to defend 21F, last reviewer said screen was two rows away - it's on the back of seat 19, so it's really just one row ahead of normal. I had a remote control for it and a fold-out armrest tray table. The unlimited legroom makes up for those niggles.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/02/23 for Seat 21F

NO tray table, not even in armrest. TV screen inaccessible because it is two rows away. Probably 21A is the same.

Submitted by Frank P on 2020/02/11 for Seat 13F

Sat here and in seat 12A previously on a JFK-MBJ trip - both Comfort+ - extra $29. Well worth it: I'm 6'2" and had plenty of leg room. Note: Seat cost extra $119 at first, then price dropped a few weeks before departure.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/02/05 for Seat 25D

This is for MSP/SEA. I was in the aisle seat. The seat was comfortable with plenty of legroom, I love the new IFE systems with the multiple plugins, plus the power outlets for each seat. Last time I rode in a 737-900ER I don't remember this pleasant of an experience. Not sure what they've changed since then, but, keep it up Delta!!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/01/07 for Seat 20C

The review of this seat states that it is a "standard economy seat" in an exit row. This suggests that the leg room for this seat is the same as for other economy seats. That is NOT the case. The legroom is at least 2" less than for a standard economy seat. It is true that there is no recline.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/12/19 for Seat 17C

This is the smallest airplane seat I have ever sat in, and I am platinum AA, gold Delta and A List SWA. The video screen is right in front of my nose and my knees are in the seat in front of me. Crazy!!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/11/18 for Seat 20E

It's true that there is no extra leg room at this seat, but there IS storage in the seat in front for your personal item.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/10/21 for Seat 26F

Awesome seat. My plane (N901DN) was a year old and the window was big and perfectly aligned with the seat. The free IFE was a pleasant surprise. I could easily see myself flying coast-to-coast in that seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/10/19 for Seat 25F

This was Delta 845 (N859DN) from Atlanta to West Palm Beach. Row 25, either A or F, has 2 windows. The legroom is good for economy seats, and this seat is located on the back of the wing with a perfect view of the flaps and, if applicable, the split scimitars.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/10/15 for Seat 1D

The leg room in 1D (and 1A for that matter) is adisgrace to the airline. As diamond medallion, I was offered a complimentary upgrade from 12D (Comfort +) to 1D foran overnight (red eye) flight, and actually turned it down, since I could not have stretched my legsto sleep. Calling this "first class" borders on deceptive advertising.

Submitted by John L on 2019/09/23 for Seat 2A

Seats in row 2 are the best seats on the plane in my opinion.. Row 1 you have to put your typical under the seat bag into the overhead. You also don't have to deal with the overhead compartments filling up because people are too cheap to pay for checked bags.. Nice large seat, real meals and good service from the flight crew.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/09/05 for Seat 2B

Good first class seat on isle with good overhead. IFE boxes under the seat in front of this seat reduce storage room but still has good foot room. Great service and food and great IFE. Newer acft in 737 line.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/08/20 for Seat 21F

There is no seat in front of you so yes, there is a LOT of legroom. But, the entertainment console is in the back of the seat two rows up so basically useless. More importantly, the seat has a small arm rest on the right side which is limited comfort. The tray table is a fold out in the left hand armrest that requires the person next to you to lift their arm to access. The curve of the plane greatly intrudes into your right shoulder space so this seat is actually very uncomfortable. If there is a large person next to you (like I had on this flight), they basically will be sharing your seat with you. It is an awful seat and I'll never select it again.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/08/09 for Seat 28F

28F has two windows, one just slightly back from your shoulder, and another forward, even with the back of the seat in front. I'm 5'10" and had a good 3" of knee space. On the flight back, DEN-ATL, I had Seat 32A, same windows, same placement. (And my name is NOT "Abdallah E," ha!)

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/06/07 for Seat 13f

The wall curves in and out to accommodate the windows. The "divider" between them juts out into your shoulder in this seat. Be great to know which seats have this issue so we can avoid them. Always nice to get the extra inch or two of shoulder space in window when window is aligned with shoulder

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/06/06 for Seat 11F

Horribly tight bulkhead. Fine if you are 5’ tall or less. Trays are in the Armrest so they are more narrow and then this ridiculous “leg room” on a 5 hour flight.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/05/17 for Seat 10A

hard and very narrow seats, very less space everywhere, overnight-flight is a torture. much worse than a newer and bigger 767

Submitted by Susan B on 2019/05/11 for Seat 1C

Decreased leg room due to wall. I'm 6'4" and I felt like I had more room in economy on the inbound flight. The excellent service made up for it and it's always nice being one of the first off the plane.

Submitted by Susan B on 2019/05/11 for Seat 10A

A good Comfort+ seat. There was enough room between this seat and first class to get up from the window seat without asking row-mates to get up. The window placement is excellent and I had a beautiful view of CUN on the departure. I agree with other reviews that say this part of the plane is warm! I went to the lav mid-flight and couldn't believe the temperature difference between front and back of plane.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/05/02 for Seat 32D

Steve H. 2019/04/27 ATL TO MCI seat 32D seat seemed to be comfortable for a 6' 250lb body. Take this plane over a A319 or A320 series planes

Submitted by Robert M on 2019/04/26 for Seat 21C

Delta charged $39.99 for this seat on 1138 mile flight. Called a “preferred” seat and considered an exit row but, buyer beware, this is a standard economy seat and has no more legroom than any other main cabin seat. Not worth extra money. Very misleading presentation from Delta.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/04/18 for Seat 12D

4/12/19 DL#1082 SEA to ANC: the Comfort+ rows immediately behind the bulkhead rows have equipment boxes underneath the aisle seats in fornt. This is because the bulkhead row in front has TVs stored in the armrests so i assume the boxes under that seat relate to their entertainment function. Better to select a Comfort+ seat in one of the rows further back and avoid 12D and 11C (bulkhead is one row further up on ABC side of plane). also, though i did not sit in 11D (the bulkhead seat in front of me), it did not look super comfortable.

Submitted by Michel R on 2019/03/18 for Seat 11D

This seat has NO xtra legroom, except during take off and landing. While flying the closet door is open and takes about 4” off the legroom, making this seat worse than non-Comfort+ seats. Avoid at all costs!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/02/08 for Seat 3C

Many complaints on-line Re. how bad the seats are on this plane. First class seats, while not uncomfortable, hardly recline. The recline on the old MD-88 are twice what they are on this plane.I definitely try to avoid this aircraft on flight longer than 1.5 hours, or when I want to recline and sleep.

Submitted by J R on 2019/01/16 for Seat 2A

Im a large guy. Im 6’5” and far from being thin. These seats were comfy, plenty of room to spare. Worth rhe money, especially if youre a large person.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/01/14 for Seat 1A

I'm short, only 5'3", so the alleged lack of legroom in the bulkhead seats isn't an issue for me. Being in a window seat, I wasn't bothered by the people visiting the lavatory or the FAs doing tasks in the galley like the passenger in 1B. I have flown this same seat a few times now, and I feel "cozy" there. I'm one of the first off the plane which is another bonus for this seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/01/11 for Seat 1A

Avoid all the seats in Row1. The legroom for Row1 is tiny and even smaller than Economy Class due to the bulkhead.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/01/10 for Seat 21C

There is a hard plastic box under the seat that takes up half of the legroom for both 21C and 21D. Especially since the metal seat supports are offset and cut into the legroom of both seats further too.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/12/16 for Seat 11E

Because of the closet there is no under seat storage. Items must be stored in overhead storage. Video screen is mounted on closet wall, may be hard for shorter or younger passengers to reach the screen to choose programing on long flights.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/12/16 for Seat 11D

Because of closet there is no under seat storage and legroom is less then other Comfort+ seats. The seat sticks out and knees could be hit by serving cart.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/11/29 for Seat 29C

Decent room for a economy seat. Seat back entertainment and charging worked well. Better than AA's products with BYO entertainment. Easy to find the button to lift aisle armrest for easy in/out.

Submitted by Michael B on 2018/11/25 for Seat 3A

I read the bulkhead seats were not ideal for foot and leg room, but after riding in seat 3A, I will elect to take a bulkhead next time I ride a DL 739, if available. Tray tables are fold out from the seat divider in all rows, not just row 1, which I am not a fan of, as they are typically uncomfortably positioned for eating a meal. While the large TV and entertainment system were pluses, the leg room behind row 1 is on par with JetBlue's Even More Space seats. Nice wide seat, but leg room was sub-par, especially riding behind a passenger fully reclined from takeoff to arrival on a 3h45m JFK-SJU trip. Seat itself had sufficient padding and comfortable otherwise.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/11/21 for Seat 21F

21A and 21F are the best seats on the plane (beyond first class, of course). Tray table, video controls and headphone jack in the arm rest between you and the center seat. Somehow this did not appear to widen the armrest, so no negative impact on your seat width. Your own personal power outlet underneath the seat. Add more legroom than you can possibly need, a regular bottom cushion and the seat reclines. Only tiny minus might be that your screen is farther away. Took this on a JFK-PDX (NYC to Portland, OR) flight and they even served a free very tasty dinner of chicken with pasta salad (and offered two other options).

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/11/05 for Seat 11F and 12A

We were upgraded to Comfort, my husband has claustrophobia, prefers aisle seat, but thought seat 11F would be good because on bulkhead; when he got to seat, could not sit there because of the reduced legroom and seat width; fortunately was able to move over to 10B, even though a middle seat, more leg room and ability get up. I, unfortunately, was in 12A and a very. very large, disabled passenger was in 12C and I was unable to get out on a 5.5 hr flight; I couldn't take my husband's abandoned seat as another passenger had moved into that seat. We would have been much, MUCH better off with our original seats 15 C and 15 D - upgrading is NOT always a good thing!!!

Submitted by Jeff M on 2018/10/19 for Seat 15A

This is a terrible seat for a long flight. No window and very cramped (im 6' and of average build and was miserable)

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/10/03 for Seat 17E

A typical middle seat in economy. Delta's 737s feel more cramped than their Airbus 320, for sure. This row has good window alignment, so if you are next to someone who doesn't close their window shades you have a good shot of looking outside even from this middle seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/09/21 for Seat 10 C

Due to the reduction in the aisle width as it transitions from First Class to Comfort Plus, seat 10 C is exposed to passenger traffic. A passenger seated in 10 C may get struck by roller bags & back packs of other boarding passenger's as they pass through toward the back of the cabin. (I've seen this happen first hand)

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/09/17 for Seat 3C

The seat was comfortable. The entertainment system had some really odd movies and not many of them. The food was very good. The Inflight staff were outstanding. Good Flight.

Flew from LGA-ATL and back. Plane was really new, clean, and sharp looking. Legroom for the 1.5 hour flight was acceptable, but it may be an issue on longer flights...it's definitely a little tight. IFE was great, and i love the Boeing Sky Interior. Overall this seat has no real positives or negatives comparatively. I'd highly recommend this plane for shorter routes, but longer ones...maybe not

Submitted by Charlie W on 2018/08/29 for Seat 21C

This seat isn’t an exit row but it does have extra let room. This while row has a couple extra inches of leg room.

This was Delta flight 2050 from Atlanta to West Palm beach, in seat 25F, on N888DU. This seat had two windows. One window is right by your head and one near the seat ahead of you. Legroom was just fine for an economy seat. This seat is located on the back of the wing. I highly recommend seat 25F for any economy traveler on a 739.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/07/26 for Seat 1c

I'm 6'5" 225lbs with very long legs. The seat was very comfortable and the legroom was outstanding for the 4+ hour flight from ATL to SFO. Using the website I selected the vegetarian meal a few days prior to departure and the meal was excellent. If you're a tall man I highly recommend FC seats 4D and 3A on Delta 737-900ER planes.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/06/28 for Seat 1B

This is certainly the worst seat in First Class, possibly on the entire plane. It is a bulkhead seat with very little room for your feet. My husband seated next to me with longer legs (but only 6 feet tall) was entirely uncomfortable and cramped. For a 5+ hour trip to Alaska it was lousy. We did not select bulkhead seats when we bought our tickets, but Delta unilaterally changed our seats and never mentioned it to us. I don't like the 737 very much and this flight confirmed again why. Seats are hard, with little padding, extremely limited recline for First Class seats, tray tables in seat arms take inches from your seat. The worst thing was the front row view of the galley and all the noise. When cabin staff bent over to do something in the kitchen, their butts literally encroached into my seat area. Also, those waiting for the lavatory hung out with their butts in my face too. There was no curtain for that area. So lights, food smells, the socializing and activities of the cabin staff and lavatory waiters were completely disturbing throughout the entire flight. It would have been much more pleasant sitting in Economy. Also, for nearly 2 hours of the flight, the cabin staff moved a beverage cart to block off that galley/lavatory area so we could not use the front lavatory or talk to the staff. It seemed as if several staff were taking a "break" up front and didn't want to be bothered with any passengers.

Submitted by Ruth Ann N on 2018/05/30 for Seat 11D

This seat is a nightmare. The seatbelt has thick coverings making it unworkable. The immoveable arms make the width very thin.- And the seat sits in the middle of aisle so you get whacked with everyone’s backpack. Should never be charged as Delta Comfort.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/05/24 for Seat 21 B

Seat 21 B, C, D and E do not have much extra leg room. Always get 21A or F if you can. Otherwise row 19 is a good choice even if it does not recline. I was in 21B and the personin 21 A agreed to change with me. I am 6'9" so a regular seat is just not livable.

Agree, it's a windowless window seat. I was totally ok with that. Let me tell you, this seat is hot and stuffy. I knew this going in, based on other reviews. I contacted Delta about it and was told they'd fixed the ventilation issue...no. This was a miserable ride.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/05/05 for Seat 11E

11E and 11F are terrible and should never be classified as Comfort seats. Less leg room than in a regular economy seat due to bulkhead being right in your face. Impossible to stretch your legs. Seats are also narrow due to the tray table being stored in side of seat. Don't buy these seats

Horrible seat. Exit row but no extra legroom (in fact it was less than standard economy), and positioning of support/powerbox for seat in front means underseat storage is so narrow that you can't store a bag; also can't recline. I was stupid to pick this seat when the toilet row 36B was available.

Submitted by Ben R on 2018/03/16 for Seat 11A

Excellent seat! Plenty of legroom, good window alignment, and service was excellent. I'd recommend making the upgrade especially for longer flights.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/03/12 for Seat 21F

Best seat on this plane. The seats are so small and not wide at all. Most people over 5'5" won't fit well in these seats. This seat has the most legroom. The TV is on the seat in the next row in front so if you're on a long flight, bring an extension aux cord. There is a remote for the TV in the seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/02/24 for Seat 24F

I was in agony from the moment I sat down. It felt like a cheap attempt at an ergo-dynamic seat which pressed into my spine in a most uncomfortable way. I used a blanket to support my back and as a cushion between me and the seat, but it still hurt. My companion in Seat 11 A said his seat was fine. Maybe mine had been broken?

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/01/06 for Seat 21F

The seat is in an exit row with no seat in front of it. So lots of leg room to stretch out. However, the video monitor is on the back of 19F so it is quite far away. The under seat storage location is under 19F as well and the person in 20E may put their stuff there. Also, the tray table is in the right armrest, so it is immovable. Not everyone likes that but I do because it keeps everyone in there seat.

Seat 28F has a pefectly alligned window. Flown on the Delta 739's multiple times and this is my go to seat when not sitting in economy comfort. Leg space is typical for economy, but having a nice IFE system and not having to bend at an akward angle to look out the window makes this my favorite seat in economy.

11 D, E and F are hrrible seats. Plenty of legroom BUT the widthe of the seat is intolerable. Add to that, the armrest do not go up. 21A and 21F -- best coach seats on this plane. I love legroom, and I love windows, and this has both. The solid armrest-with-tray keeps your neighbor's leg from touching you. There's a remote in the armrest to run the screen that's 5' away. Little noisy on take-off, but quiets down once at speed.

Extremely uncomfortable, narrow, and hard as are all 737-900 economy seats in any airline. The 900's claim to fame are large and clumsy bins and "mood lighting." Big deal. Find an Airbus!

Great seat. I'm 6'4", and this seat has all the leg room you could want. Did a red-eye (SEA-JFK), and while I usually don't sleep, I was able to nod off for a bit a couple of times. The in-seat power is a plus, but you do have to reach a bit to the seat in front to plug in your device. Only negative I could say is the padding isn't that "plush", but after 5+ hours in the air I doubt most economy seats would keep your butt comfy.

This seat was uncomfortable and legroom was a far cry from other Delta comfort plus seating I have experienced. at 5; 8" it was cramped. Row 10 looked much better. Due to blukhead position I was was able to use my laptop. Avoid 11D as the closet door swings back to the hit the traveler's legs.

Flew from ATL to LAX on 12/31/16 in seat 19C. Seat doesn't recline, but I usually don't recline anyway. The extra legroom was great, and I liked the USB and headphone jack located just below the IFE screen.

This is an extremely nice aircraft to fly on domestically. The seats and legroom are good and the IFE in every seat is a great feature. The aircraft is a little louder than the A321 that Delta also flies but not significantly. I would fly this aircraft over the A321 due to it's nicer interior.

No recline but best legroom. Felt sorry for coach: very cramped. Downside: you feel every little movement of those behind you when they move items in seat pocket.

Great legroom but I found the cabin wall protruding between the windows to greatly reduce the width of this seat and make it very uncomfortable. If the window was even with the armrest it would be a perfect seat!

I flew this plane from LAS-MSP. The seat was quite comfortable. I didn't use the recline. There is a wall behind this seat. Some reviewers say it affects the recline. I liked it because no one was bumping the back of my seat during the flight. The live TV did not work and the picture quality of the movie I watched (March of the Penguins) was similar to analog, a little disappointed at that. This seat is served last during the meal and they were out of one of the options. Not a big deal to me but may be to some. Overall there was plenty of room in this seat and the flight was comfortable. The interior of the plane is nice and it was fairly quiet in the first class cabin.

Has good parts and bad parts, during my flight a line for the lavatories filled the aisle from row 33 back. Has more leg room than the window and aisle seat though. Also, it took longer than usual to exit plane as there is no rear exit. The in-flight entertainment just got a software update, and is excellent.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/10/19 for Seat 29A

The window is misaligned, but the wing doesn't block your view so if you twist just right you can see what's going on outside. Also, in general the coach seats on this plane recline so far that you have to look down farther than is comfortable (I'm 6' tall) to watch the IFE. The seat was reasonably comfortable for the three hours I was on the plane, and even though I'm a fluffy flier I still didn't need a seatbelt extender. The plane is very warm, and the fans above the seat put out less air the more people in your row open them -- so, not nearly enough.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/10/19 for Seat 21A

Seats 21A and 21F have fixed armrests that cannot be raised. You also can't reach the screen on the back of seat 19A (or your bag under it). The wall of the plane pushes into your shoulder space (21A, left shoulder; 21F, right shoulder). I'm a big guy, and I didn't need a seatbelt extender, so that was nice. Finally, overall this plane was very warm, even with the windowshades closed, and the fans on the newer planes share an air source -- the more people on your row who open their vents, the less air you get. IFE was great for my wife (in 21B), with 1/8" headphone ports and USB charging, as well as plenty of options. However, the captain needs to talk less because it pauses the IFE. They talk a LOT.

The sky interior is lovely, but not at the expense of a 30" pitch. Isle seats also have an AV box under that seat reducing space. Shame on Delta. They've done the same thing on the new A320s. This seat was close to the Spirit ULCC experience. Give me a 33" pitch with old bins and lighting on a 757 any day. Good job on OD TV and power ports.

Great seat for my 6'4 frame, when I cannot afford first class. Great IFE, LCD screens, many many options from movies to live TV for free! Near the front of the plane, the 737-900 seems to handle turbulence well, the aircraft had the new split scimitar winglets. Wi-Fi worked fine above 10,000 feet.

Obviously tons of legroom here. Tray table and TV controller are in the armrest and I didn't have any issues seeing the screen. It is a little awkward to reach your under-seat bag or items you wish to stow in the seatback pocket, but it's the price you pay for limitless legroom. Just make sure you have what you need during takeoff and landing.

I'm 5'10", 320lbs and didn't have an issue with any part of the seat except the armrest stowed tray table. Letting it extend a few more inches would have been nice (that it's tight on me is my fault, not Boeing's). On the ground, the aircon was struggling on the ground in Albuquerque. Once airborne and above 10,000 ft it seemed fine. Regarding the overhead storage, this particular aircraft's bins didn't seem as tall as some of the pictures I'd seen. My 21" Delsey Helium spinner fit flat wheels first just fine but there's no way it was going in there on it's narrow side. The aisles are narrower than the 757 and even the MDs but once again, I'm a pretty big guy and I didn't have a problem. Pitch is noticeably shorter than the 757's but there was still a decent amount of room. The aisle seat pax will have to get up to let the window seat out regardless if either or both of the row forward is reclined or not.My only complaint with this A/c to date is the size of the under seat storage space. I had trouble getting a Maxpedition Sitka underneath (approx. 10" deep in it's current configuration).

This seat is terrible, terrible, terrible. Honestly I'm quite sure its worse than a standard economy seat. It doesn't recline, which is expected since it is an exit row, however the seat pitch seemed to be less than a standard economy seat. The legroom was also less than an economy seat, which for a 6' 3" male caused an issue. For our nearly 6 hour red eye from HNL-SEA this seat was awful.

Submitted by Eric R on 2016/04/25 for Seat 27F

The plane was new, clean, and the in-flight entertainment with the seat-back LCD screens was excellent, best I've had on a domestic flight. Seats themselves are decently padded but narrow and low on legroom. The aisle of the plane is absurdly narrow, and you're not getting past the carts to the restroom if they're serving anything (which on a 180 passenger plane for a 5 hour flight, they usually are). Try to stick to a 757 or 767 if you can get it, but you could do worse than the 739.

Hard, hard plastic seats. In the effort to make the plane lighter, the seats have been sacrificed. At the end of my red eye my butt actually hurt from the hardness of the seat. The seat depth is also shorter, no doubt so more people can be crammed in. Aisle seats on the Delta 737-900ERs have a funky bar that extends down keeping anything but a flat briefcase from fitting properly under the seat in front of you. My backpack, that used to always fit perfectly, does not fit. My feet had to straddle it to try to get any sort of legroom.I'm a Boeing girl, but I cannot stand the interior of these planes. Horrid and cheap.

Seat 10A has best legroom stretch on the plane, better than 1st class IMO. Armrest video is not ideal, but I will exchange leg stretch for backseat video. 2 3/4 hr flight Phoenix to Mpls, very comfortable, even for window seat. Window is offset, but legroom more than makes up for it. And you can store underseat carry on. Great seat.

Amenities such as the two charging ports, seatback monitors, and wifi are great. But, the wifi is really all you need, as you can watch free movies and TV on your own device. The cabin is far nicer than that of United's 737 fleet, though after a 5 hour flight the seat does become uncomfortable. The middle seat has a small box impeding on legroom, just another reason to never sit in a middle seat.

Submitted by Patrick M on 2016/03/11 for Seat 10A

Despite the claims to the contrary, 10A is excellent. Perhaps there are multiple Delta configurations, but there is NO bulkhead in front, ample legroom, place for your bag, etc. Yes, it is narrower because of the tray table, but still a great seat. (11 F,E,D however, have a closet in front.)

This plane is the most updated and well equipped aircraft in Deltas fleet. Chargers on every screen, most of the seat back entertainment is for free. For a 3 1/2 hour flight from Salt Lake-Atlanta this plane did not disappoint whatsoever...

Flew this plane from Atlanta to Seattle in February, 2016. It was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever had. Me and my seat mate kept squirming because of the "un"comfortness. There was no bin space near my seat when I boarded so my small carry-on had to be stowed back above row 30 so I had to wait to debark. Lavatory way in the back of the plane and very narrow.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/02/20 for Seat 17B

Completely unacceptable legroom. One of the most uncomfortable coach flights I've experienced in 35 years of flying. Description says 30-31 inches of pitch in coach, clearly this is 30. If I want to fly Spirit or Allegiant, I guess I will and save half the ticket cost because this is now basically what Delta is offering for their coach product.

N851DN delivered on 1/19/16, so new, still smelled of new plastic inside. First class window seat was very comfortable. Plenty of legroom and width. Recline was full and unrestricted with adjustable head rests. The entertainment system in the seat back worked perfectly. Plenty of entertainment choices from movies, live TV and games. The screen for row 1 is mounted on the bulkhead, so it would be further away to watch and to access the on screen controls. The only criticism I have of this aircraft in the volume of airflow through the overhead vents. The interior temperature was very warm when we boarded and the overhead vent produced hardly any air movement. The air flow did not improve during the flight. Boeing could have left this feature off this aircraft. So, you are at the mercy of the flight crew to control your temperature comfort though the main HVAC system. After reading bad reviews of the comfort of this aircraft, I almost changed my flight to avoid it. Other than the airflow, there is no reason to avoid this aircraft.

There was no live Tv option for a new aircrat.

One of the worst seats in the air. The seat is at least 2 inches narrower than b and c in the same row. Plus the curvature of the fuselage further reduces space. A truly terrible seat. A middle seat is less painful.

I have flown this plane on a few different routes across the U.S....unfortunately. I try to avoid it at all costs. While the room isn't bad in FC, the new seats are hard as a rock. There is very little recline even in the standard seats, and the comfort is nothing compared to the older 757 FC seats. Your behind will be asleep shortly after takeoff, trust me!

This is a newer aircraft, the B737-900ER. It has USB charging jacks at each video screen, and 110V AC power at each seat down near the floor (where you see the green light). The seat is par for the course, but the power was much appreciated!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/11/21 for Seat 15A

Yes, this seat is terrible. Delta mistakenly describes it as "Preferred." It may be in a row close to the front, but the row is very short, and this "window" seat 15A has no window.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/11/01 for Seat 15A

The lack of a window means a flat wall with no recess for the window which significantly limits shoulder room and makes the seat space smaller. Although the seat itself is standard, the armrests are several inches closer together.

I flew Tampa to ATL in first class, and I found the seating to be extremely comfortable. Comparable to the 737-900 seating. This plan also has a bulkhead and galley in between first class and coach so you are really in a quiet, comfortable space. Peeking back into coach - no thanks. Too tight for me.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/08/25 for Seat 3C 3D

While the additional space over Economy is good, 3D was stuck in a partial recline, and 3C took inordinate effort to move in recline. Recline is small, and it is difficult to get out from the window seat if the seats ahead are reclined. Seats are not particularly comfortable, especially for someone over 6 ft. Forward lavatory is minute, baby change table tiny (there were two babies in 1st on this trip). Didn't sleep much on a red-eye flight. Not sure that a really nice entertainment system is compensation for a less than comfortable seat in first class.

Not what you would expect when buying a first class ticket. The recline and the spacing has been sacrificed in order to add another row of seats, just to make more money. The bathroom has also been downsized. Can barely turn around in there. If you want to splash water on your face, turn so your rear is over the toilet, bend over and twist (try to) over the 3 inch wide sink and be prepared to make a huge mess. Not first class at all.

These bulkhead seats had no individual TV screens. Row 10 A/B/C had one overhead screen for viewing the safety video. Row 11 D/E/F had two screens on the wall that the seat occupants had no control over. One showed the map with plane movement, the other showed a movie. All other seats in Delta Comfort+ (which is what it's called now) had free movies, free drinks and extra snacks like fresh fruit and muffins.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/02/23 for Seat 11D

While the legroom for 11D is quite spacious (and you can stretch out into the aisle in front of the closet when there is no foot traffic), there are two major penalties. The closet door opens into your personal space, a completely covers the pocket for magazines. When the Flight Attendant opens it, it will most certainly intrude in your personal space. The other problem is that everyone else around you has an eye-level mounted monitor, but this seat has one that tucks under the armrest. You won't be able to watch your movie after final approach rings.

Regional Jets not withstanding, this 737-900ER was by far the most uncomfortable aircraft in Delta's fleet that I've flown on. Seats feel very close together (even in first, I can't imagine what steerage is like). The seats are hard as a rock and have very little recline. Adding insult to injury the front lavatory is beyond claustrophobic. Absolutely hate to fly this plane, and avoid when I can. If Delta does this same treatment to the rest of their fleet then they aren't much different than a RyanAir flight.

Submitted by Ashley L on 2015/02/12 for Seat 21F

Best economy seat on the plane (also 21A). Seat removed in front of you so great leg room. In flight entertainment screen is two seats away, so that may be an issue for some. The photo submitter showing his phone plugged in 2 seats away must have missed the fact that the seat has both USB and standard plug in the base, and there is a remote for in-flight that has a headphone jack. Overall the seats on this new plane are not well padded, but if you have to fly it, this is the seat to get.

First class seats on this aircraft are nothing short of a disgrace. They hardlyrecline, certainly much less than on the 737-800 or 757. This was horribly uncomfortable for a red-eye flight. Granted I was upgraded so I cannot complain too much, but how DL can market these for revenue goes my understanding. All of them should go yellow, if not red.

Very nice aircraft if you are flying first class. The 11" screen with all of the technological bells and whistles was great. Seat comfort is very good with a larger center arm rest. The only negatives are that the seats seem to recline less than previous 737's (another inch would be nice) and the front restroom is extremely small.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2014/09/28 for Seat 20C

The sears are some of the most uncomfortable. If you are selecting an exit row for the extra leg room, don't, because they actually have less. The seats are very narrow, and if your neighbor is slightly wider than an average person, expect to get intimate. The extra overhead space is needed, due to the lack of sufficient space under many seats.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2014/09/28

Seats in economy were horrible. I flew ATL to SFO and my back was killing me. Seats do not recline enough so when you fall asleep you head will probably lean forward and wake you up since poor recline. Not impressed at all avoid 737-900 on long flights.

I found this seat, and the plane in general, to be quite comfortable. It had a bit more knee room than the A319 I had on the outbound trip. The AVOD is very nice (HD I think) and the movie I watched was free.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2014/09/09 for Seat Exit Rows

I try to avoid this aircraft. While it is newer inside, the seats are a cheap and have very little cushioning. And as Delta Elite flyers have come to grab exit row seats for the leg room, you won't get that here. The exit rows except for the two window seats have no real legroom. I would try for any other plane configuration given a choice

New plane, only a week old according to pilot. I pick 2nd row of economy comfort so i'll have a place to store my backpack under seat in front of me. Unfortunately the aisle seat (11C) foot room is SMALLER than the window and middle seat foot room (less wide). My standard backpack wouldn't fit until I turned it diagonally. It's also shorter (less deep) because of entertainment system on 10C. The guy in 11A can put his feet AROUND his backpack in the floor there's so much width there.

This seat is HORRIBLE! The recline is less than half an inch, and there is no window right next to you. You have to look ahead of you to see a window! Do not fly in any seats in this ro from A to C, and in row 37 seat D to F!!! All horrible seats!!!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2014/07/14 for Seat 20D

These planes are not an improvement - yes the entertainment option is nice but the seats are hard and narrow. And the limited legroom is now taken up by the box on the floor for the entertainment system - which also means essentially all bags have to go up in the bins. Very similar drawbacks to the new AA planes.

Submitted by Michael F on 2014/07/06

Row 1 has smaller overhead bins, because of the curvature of the plane, so you cannot put your roll-aboard in wheels out/in. Most of the FAs don't know this so they will argue with you.

For 10A-10C the entertainment system is mounted on an articulated arm that comes out of the armrest. If seats 5A or 5B are reclined it's impossible to deploy or stow the screen without disturbing the folks in those seats.

The video screens are larger than what you'd expect on most aircraft. The "touch screen" technology is very responsive, so you don't have to press hard and disrupt the passenger in front of you. The video screens are good size and the clariity of the IFE is phenomenal! The USB and chargin ports are easily identified with the caben ambient lighting. Armrests are VERY wide. No having to flip a coin for who gets to use it. New Generation ceiling and overhead bins are spacious, and they don't restrict headroom for those in the aisle. The only disappointment is the size of the First Class lav - you cannot change your mind once in the lav due to lack of room!

I was disappointed on Deltas new 737-900 Aircraft. Seat 1A has no legroom! Very uncomfortable!! The air conditioning was almost non existent!!! Terribly hot the entire 2 hours and 12 minutes. No live TV, but big screens. The tray tables come out of the center arm rest! Bad idea. Not impressed with Boeing and Deltas new airplane!!! The 300's were much better!!!!!!

Recently flew the 737-900 ER for the first time. This is a great airplane as outfitted by Delta. 13D in economy comfort was very comfortable and eliminated my usual desire to upgrade to first class. I have always hated the 757 for its cramped feeling, even in first class. Nobody over 5'8" could stand up in the front bathroom. Now it should be possible to avoid flying it again.I just booked a repeat of this same trip in July and specifically requested the 900 both ways.

Although there is more legroom, it's a stretch to see the TV, because there is not a row of seats in front of it.

Dreadful seat. Advertised new seats with extra comfort is hogwash, perhaps for a tiny person. Hard seat, no knee room, neighbor arm stuck in my side the entire flight, right shoulder banged constantly by wide body flight attendants and passengers and carts. Broad shouldered or tall people beware. Likely the most uncomfortable seat I've ever sat in and for a 2100 nm flight (against the wind) it was torture.

Flying first class on this aircraft is like flying on jetBlue with more elbow room. The seat does not recline more than two inches. If you take a red eye flight on this aircraft (as I did), you are almost certain to be disappointed. I would not voluntarily take this aircraft for another red eye. If you take a daytime flight, it is not a bad seat. You do not get much leg room, but the entertainment system is quite nice. It is also nice to have electricity in the seat. The seat is better than anything you will get flying coach on Delta.

If you are flying coach on this plane, seats 21 A & F are best. Much better than economy comfort. With no seat in front, the legroom and total personal space are better than first class. I normally put my computer bag in the overhead to enjoy more leg room, but that is unnecessary in these seats. It is a little bit of a stretch to reach the seat in front. But that is easier than having to get up to get to your stuff in the overhead. The only drawbacks are that it takes longer to disembark as you are farther back in the plane than economy comfort and the video screen is in the arm rest and must be stowed for landing.

Have travelled this plane many times now. There is no bulkhead behind row 5 separating FC from economy and the seats in Y are very close to row 5. People in row 5 frequently kick or use the back of the seat to pull themselves up.
